Amalfi Coast Italy

The Amalfi Coast Italy is surrounded by beautiful countryside and a wealth of ancient Roman sites. From the times of the 18th century Grand Tours, Naples and the Amalfi Coast have been high on the list of any traveller as well as the awe-inspiring ruins at Pompeii, Herculaneum and Paestum. Due to the 79 AD eruption of Vesuvius, these towns were preserved under layers of ash, lava and mud, thus giving us a unique insight to ancient architecture and life.

About Amalfi Coast

As well as passing a few days in Naples, marvelling at this busy and chaotic city, Caserta is a nice divertion, only 22Km away to the north. In this town there is the Bourbon Grand Palace. This palace, known as the Reggia di Caserta after Pompeii, is Italy’s most visited historical monument. A walk around the vast gardens (3Km long!), is recommended, especially the fountain of Diana and the English Garden.

There are many ways to get around. Car hire widely available and the Ferrovia Cumana (train service) stops at Pozzuoli, Baia and Cuma.
