Beaches along the Amalfi Coast are small and mainly pebbly, sandy long beaches are not so common. The largest sandy beaches can be found in the Bay of Naples and along the coast on Ischia.

Campania, the region in which Naples and the Amalfi Coast are situated, is famous for many culinary delights, such as the pizza, buffalo mozzarella and seafood. The pizza marinara is a speciality here, with this Marinara sauce of tomato, garlic and basil also found on pasta. Other pasta dishes such as “spaghetti alle vongole” (spaghetti with clams) along with loads of fresh "cozze" (muscles) squid and octopus are also common. Limoncello, a lemon liqueur, is made in the region.

There are many boat excursions, guided tours and hiking trails to avail of. Many of the ferries and boat excursions depart from Naples, Sorrento, Amalfi and Positano going to other ports along the Amalfi Coast or to the islands Capri and Ischia.
